June Wrap-Up

June wasn't as successful as I hoped it would be regarding the amount of books I've read, but I really, really enjoyed them and I think that's what counts the most!
So let's get right into it!

I've started the month with finishing a series. I've read Circle of Fire by Michelle Zink which is the last book in the Prophecy of Sisters trilogy. And I have to say I loved this series, it definitely has its flaws but Michelle Zink created a world and characters I want to revisit over and over again. I don't really think it's something for everybody but you should give it a try!
I gave Circle of Fire 4.75 Stars

Then I re-read one of my favorite books of all time The Lover's Dictionary by David Levithan. It's a wonderful, unique love story and I loved it even more than the first time I've read it
5 Stars of course!

After that the June TopicAThon, which I hosted, started. Unfortunately it wasn't that successful, because I've only read two books and started one but it was an amazing reading experience!

I've started with Terror Kid by Benjamin Zephaniah. Unfortunately it was a bit of a let down for me. I didn't like any of the characters. The story left me uncomfortable and I had some issues with it.
Gave it 3.25 Stars

Then I've read Sisters by Raina Telgemeier which was exactly what I needed! It's a wonderful and funny, but also serious Graphic Novel about, obviously two Sisters. It's also a road trip book and it deals with family in general. Everything was perfectly set out and I laughed a lot. The art style was a perfect match for the storyline.
Gave it 5 Stars

I've started Searching for beautiful by Nyrae Dawn and finished it a few days after the end of the TopicAThon. First it felt a bit slow for me but when I got into it, it was wonderful. An amazing message, awesome character development and a wonderful love story!
4.75 Stars

Then I've read Sex and the City - Kiss and Tell which is a great book for all the fans of SATC with a episode guide, character descriptions, backround stories and a lot of other really cool stuff!
4.5 Stars

Then I've read a poetry collection by Wislawa Szymborska which I adored. I loved every single poem in this collection and she's definitely a new favorite poet of mine.
Highly, highly recommend checking her out if you're into poetry!

This was my June and I hope you had a great reading month!
